History

Southern Dandenongs Landcare Group Inc. (SDLG)

The Southern Dandenongs Landcare Group was founded in August 2007 with the aim to protect and preserve the remnant vegetation of the southern section of the Dandenong Ranges, particularly the water catchments which are home to our locally threatened platypus population.

Our mission is to engage and educate local residents in how to care for their increasingly threatened local bushland areas and the very special creatures dependent on them in an effort to enrich local community life and preserve our natural heritage for posterity.  All of our activities and events are family friendly  with children warmly welcomed.

The group covers areas from Belgrave South and Heights, Belgrave, Selby, Lysterfield, Upper Ferntree Gully, Tecoma to Ferny Creek.
