National Tree Day Planting

Birdsland Reserve, 271 Mt Morton Rd Belgrave Heights

It is the 20th anniversary of the Southern Dandenongs Community Nursery and members of the Dandenong Ranges Renewable Energy Association (DRREA), Upwey Guides and Selby Scouts and the Landcare Group will be celebrating with a big planting day at Birdsland Reserve, 271 Mount Morton Road Belgrave Heights. Melways Map 84 B2.Birdsland improves each year with these community plantings so join in the fun and get even more plnts in the ground to help wildlife.

Bring: sturdy footwear, warm clothes & raincoat if necessary. Planting tools provided.

Meet:  at the  Southern Dandenongs Community Nursery at 9 AM and then head to 2 planting sites:

Site 1:  Above the Community Nursery and Birdsland Environment Centre which is a terrific site for people of all abilities  and families with children. Toilets, water  and car parking nearby.

Site 2: Along the Monbulk Creek corridor: Located 1 km from community nursery. Participants will be transported by Parks Victoria vehicle to planting site. Great site, but no facilities.

Following the end of the planting at approx. 12:15 PM, planters will return to the Birdsland Environment Centre to enjoy some hot soup, drinks and light finger food.
